Soft Skills Seminar: "Soft ionization and high-resolution mass spectrometry. Technical aspects and applications”

Javier Calvo

Mass spectrometry is currently a fundamental analytical technique in bioscience research. The appearance of soft ionization forms, which allow ionization of intact molecules and with hardly any fragmentation, such as MALDI and ESI, has allowed its use in multiple scientific fields, being used for the detection, quantification and structural elucidation of small organic molecules up to large proteins or polymers.

In this brief seminar, we will review the main characteristics, applications and some of the most important concepts related to mass spectrometry.
