Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a powerful and flexible tool that provides a rich source of diagnostic information. The seminar is intended to address the scientific opportunities that preclinical MRI can bring to you. Specifically, a full description of the hardware present and selected examples applications performed during the last years will be presented. Along with the progress in the acquisition of MRI images, the platform has been constructing along the years a comprehensive library of image analysis tools for MRI data, that are available to the users. We also aim to show the pros and cons of using MRI in material or biomedical research
