The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Laboratory at CIC biomaGUNE is led by Dr. Pedro Ramos-Cabrer

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Laboratory develops non-invasive MRI techniques for the study of the Central Nervous System and designs novel nanomaterials for the transport and controlled release of therapeutics into the brain.

The group intends to characterize the onset and evolution of diseases of the central nervous system (CNS), from development of early imaging biomarkers to imaging methods that quantify the progression of the pathological processes and their consequences at anatomical, metabolic and functional levels.

The group additionally develops new therapeutic approaches to treat such diseases, with special emphasis on the penetration through the blood- brain-barrier and monitoring the effective release of drugs in the brain parenchyma.
