The Medical Biophysics Centre in Santiago de Cuba: research and innovation in the Cuban context

The Medical Biophysics Centre of the Universidad de Oriente in Cuba has been working for more than 25 years developing medical technology for the Cuban medical system. Four main lines of research related to magnetic resonance, cardiovascular studies, human movement analysis and medical data processing have supported the main achievements during this period. Main results and challenges will be presented, as well as the main opportunities in a context oriented towards innovation and open to scientific and technological collaboration.
