Dr. Dorleta Jimenez de Aberasturi, Group Leader of the Hybrid Biofunctional Materials group at CIC biomaGUNE, has been awarded the prestigious Ramón y Cajal Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Innovation. This grant recognizes leading researchers and seeks to support and promote their work within the Spanish scientific community.
Moreover, two alumni from CIC biomaGUNE have also been recognized with the Ramón y Cajal Fellowship. Dr. Leonardo Scarabelli, a former PhD student from the Bionanoplasmonics group at CIC biomaGUNE, is currently a "La Caixa" Junior Leader at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC). He specializes in materials science research, with a focus on harnessing the unique properties of nanoscale materials for various technological applications.
The other alumna is Dr. Natalia Baranova, from the former Biosurfaces group. She is now a researcher at the University of Vienna, Austria.
The purpose of the aid covered by this call is to promote the inclusion of research staff, both Spanish and foreign, with a notable track record in research institutions, so that they acquire the skills and abilities that allow them to secure a stable position in a research institution of the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System, specifically encouraging the integration of researchers who have been carrying out their professional activity abroad for a certain period of time.
