INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE

During the second week of February 2019 (11-15) CIC biomaGUNE in collaboration with the Materials Physicis Center (CFM, CSIC-UPV/EHU), CIC nanoGUNE and Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) will commemorate the International Women and girl in Science day (WinS) celebrating a series of events that aim to make visible the activity of women in science, break with the typically male roles attributed to scientific-technical activities and encourage the choice of scientific careers among girls and adolescents. The activities organized include:

WinS for KIDS - DO YOU KNOW ANY WOMEN IN SCIENCE?
Place: CIC biomaGUNE, CIC nanoGUNE
Date: 12/02/2019
Time: 9:45

This workshop targeted girls and boys between 9 and 10 years old. The researchers of the organizing centers will carry out different activities aimed at highlighting the role of women in science throughout history and  scientific demonstrations in this two-hour workshop.

WinS for the elder women - Amona´s POWER

Outreach talks:

In this session some of the cutting-edge and brilliant research projects developed at the CIC nanoGUNE, CIC biomaGUNE, DIPC and CFM research centres will be presented. The leadership in all of them lies in an equal binomial with a woman scientist and a man scientist at the head. They will tell us firsthand about their research, their experience and their impressions.
