Description

Hybrid plasmonic-magnetic nanoparticles

We are focused on the synthesis of hybrid multifunctional NPs that can be composed of materials that provide contrast to different imaging techniques. In this sense we are specialists in the fabrication of hybrid NPs composed of plasmonic and magnetic materials that can serve for Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) imaging and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Polymer coating of NPs with active ligand

The use of biocompatible ligands to protect the NPs not only provide stability and biocompatibility but also bring the possibility of attaching different molecules that can serve as sensors, contrast agents as for example fluorescent imaging, or specificity to different cells among others.
