Malou Henriksen

 

Research Associate at the Bionanoplasmonics Laboratory

Dr. Malou Henriksen-Lacey gained her PhD from Aston University (Birmingham, UK) in 2011 in the field of liposomal vaccines under the supervision of Prof. Yvonne Perrie. She continued her postdoctoral research in nanoparticle vaccine delivery systems, later moving to the Bionanoplasmonics group led by Prof. Luis Liz-Marzán (CIC biomaGUNE). In 2017 she became a Research Associate in the same group, exploring various research lines including cancer and tissue engineering using bio-fabricated tissue models and advanced cellular imaging techniques.

She has published 57 peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognized journals and has over 4,000 citations. In addition, she has contributed to 2 book chapters and is inventor of 4 patents. Her findings have been presented in over 40 internal conferences. Currently she is co-PI of a nationally-funded grant and co-director of 3 PhD students.

Aside from her experimental research, Dr. Malou Henriksen-Lacey is interested in promoting sustainable actions in CICbiomaGUNE, leading the Sustainability Committee, and is a member of the works council.
