He left CIC biomaGUNE on August 2021 in order to be able to devote himself fully to his Full Professor job at the Universität Hamburg.

Wolfgang J. Parak obtained his Ph.D. at the LMU München, Germany (1999), in the group of Prof. Dr. Hermann Gaub. After a postdoctoral stay at the University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA, in the group of Prof. Dr. Paul Alivisatos, he returned to Munich in 2002 as Assistant Professor. From 2007 - 2017 he was Full Professor at the Philipps Universität Marburg, German and from 2013-2021 he was Principal Investigator at CIC biomaGUNE, leading the Bioengineered Particles group. Since 2017 he is Full Professor at the Universität Hamburg, Germany.
