The eighth edition of the international glycoscience meeting, Glycobasque 8, was held on 23 and 24 October at Edificio Central (Paseo Mikeletegi 53) at the Gipuzkoa Technology Park in San Sebastian.

The event, organized by Niels Reichardt, Elisabete Elósegui and Jon Imanol Quintana from CIC biomaGUNE (San Sebastian) and Jesús Jiménez-Barbero from CIC bioGUNE (Derio) gathered professionals, experts, and researchers from various glycoscience disciplines.

Over the course of two days, the conference hosted presentations by renowned international speakers, including Lars Nitschke (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität), June Ereño-Orbea (CICbioGUNE), Xuefei Huang (Michigan State University) and Martina Delbianco (Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces).

The meeting showcased state-of-the-art research from participants with backgrounds in different fields of glycoscience, including cancer glycobiology, glycan synthesis, immune therapy, glycoconjugate vaccine design and analysis of carbohydrate-protein interactions among others.
