The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has recognized the work of Professor Aitziber L. Cortajarena, Ikerbasque Professor and Scientific Director of CIC biomaGUNE, by featuring her recent article in their 2025 International Women’s Day collection: Celebrating Women in Nanoscience.

Her study, titled “Biomolecular ligands as tools to modulate the optical and chiroptical properties of gold nanoclusters”, was published in the journal Nanoscale and highlights innovative approaches to controlling the properties of gold nanoclusters through biomolecular interactions.
