The award reflects our commitment to continuously improve our human resource policies in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers - HRS4R - is an initiative of the European Commission (EC) to encourage research institutions to implement the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the recruitment of research staff and to recommend the implementation of the seal of "Excellence in HR in Research".

On October 2020, CIC biomaGUNE started the procedure towards the elaboration of the GAP analysis and Action Plan for the obtention of the seal of "Excellence in HR in Research". On September 2021, the Action Plan was adapted following the recommendations received from the European Commission, and on November 2021, the 'HR Excellence in research' award was obtained.
