Luis Liz Marzán, Scientific Director at CIC biomaGUNE and an Ikerbasque researcher, will tomorrow take part in the Joint Japan-Spain Symposium on Medical Research to be held in Madrid. The symposium is one of the commemorative events organised to mark the 150th anniversary of Japan-Spain diplomatic relations.
As Scientific Director at CIC biomaGUNE, Luis Liz Marzán, together with Hiroshi Handa (Tokyo Medical University), Rikiya Watanabe (RIKEN), Josep Samitier (Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia) and Kumiko Hayashi (Tohoku University), will speak in the session for high level researchers specialised in nanomedicine.
This event, co-organised by the Japanese Embassy in Madrid and the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has been designed to strengthen and deepen existing relations between the two countries in the field of medical research.
The symposium, to be opened by Dr. Ángeles Heras, Spanish Secretary of State of Universities, Research and Innovation, and Mr. Masashi Mizukami, Ambassador of Japan in Spain, will include sessions on research into rare diseases, the industry of biomedicine and nanomedicine.
