For the Synthetic Bioengineering for Biomedicine position, we are interested in candidates with a strong track record in the broad field of Biomaterials Engineering. Experience in the design of biomaterials, bioprinting, flexible materials, artificial scaffolds, and 3D functional engineered models, aiming at the understanding and control of the material properties for biomedical applications will be valued.
In the Computational Chemistry domain, we seek a candidate with a strong track record in Computational Biomolecular Engineering, and/or Computational Materials. The candidate will lead a research group, playing a crucial transversal role in integrating computational tools and data analysis techniques across the three research lines within the center. Experience in advanced computational methods for biomolecular and biomaterial engineering, predicting nanomaterials and biomaterials properties, simulating engineered systems, elucidating material-biological systems interactions, as well as image processing, including artificial intelligence (AI) approaches, will be highly valued.
These five-year Fellowships are directed to promising young researchers; and intend to offer a track towards a PI role and independent research. Ikerbasque researchers are encouraged to apply for financial support in national and international competitive calls to lead R&D projects and to develop their own activity and research agenda. Ikerbasque is committed to offer a long-term career to the research community: Fellows in their 5th year can be assessed for a permanent position.
The applicants must have their PhD completed between 01/01/2014 and 31/12/2022.
Applications from women are especially welcomed. The eligibility period will be extended under special circumstances such as maternity.
Interested candidates should submit the following information before the 28th of February 2025:
- Cover Letter
- Curriculum Vitae
- Detailed description of research interests and research plan
- Contact information of three colleagues who can provide reference letters
Please note that this deadline is BEFORE the official deadline of the Ikerbasque call (which is the 20th of March 2025 at 13:00 CET).
