A European Project Manager Officer position is available to the Project Management Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management and implementation of ongoing projects at CIC biomaGUNE with a particular focus on the MSCA-COFUND BREATH and MSCA-RISE SUPROGEN projects. Key responsibilities include consortium coordination, administrative and financial management, and Open Science and Quality compliance.

The post holder will join the Projects Office and serve as a liaison between research group leaders and other CIC biomaGUNE support areas (HR, Finance, Tech Transfer and Communication) for the daily running of research project.

Main duties and responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Project management: Support the Project coordinator of BREATH and SUPROGEN in administrative issues, project monitoring and strategic planning:
    • Report preparation and tracking of scientific production: Coordinating and contributing to the writing of technical and financial reports, scientific deliverables, and other project-related documentation.
    • Supporting HR aspects in exchange activities or recruitment.
    • Organizing project events, meetings, workshops, and other activities.
    • Managing the content of the project websites, social media and ensuring dissemination of project results to the scientific community, relevant stakeholders, and the general public.
    • Administrative and financial management: monitoring and economic justification of the projects and advice on non-scientific matters for applications ensuring compliance and funder requirements on justification of the research projects, registration and archive of internal and official documents.
  • Funding and proposal support: Support researchers and project managers in research project applications and throughout the project’s life (administrative support, advice and review of documentation). Provide guidance on budget preparation, partner selection, and proposal writing. Review and pre-evaluate proposals to enhance success rates.
  • Open Science: Maintain publications database (complying with open access and open data mandates), elaboration of Data Management Plans, organization and coordination of data management, preparation and analysis while considering FAIR principles.
  • R&D&I Quality: Maintain and improve the quality system, certified under the UNE 166002 Standard, ensuring proper record collection in the Integrated Management System, periodically reviewing the system, conducting internal audits, preparing reports, updating SOP, overseeing non-conformities, and managing preventive and corrective actions, as well as providing support in the transition to the ISO 56001 or the implementation and implementation of other ISO standards.
Required Education Level:
  • A degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Information or Quality Management or a related field
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Experience in research project management of coordinated teams or networks (EU-funded projects MSCA experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of research funding programs and administrative processes related to project coordination.
  • Experience in financial and administrative management, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and ISO Certifications (knowledge of UNE 166002 is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with researchers, administrative departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Open Science practices, data management, and FAIR principles.
  • Proficiency in digital tools for project management, document preparation, and data handling.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated teamwork abilities and strong organization skills.
Duration:

The successful candidate will be hired by CIC biomaGUNE for an initial period of 6 months in a full-time contract with the possibility of a subsequent permanent contract linked to the MSCA-COFUND BREATH project subject to satisfactory performance.
